6501 Illuminated Electronic Control Head
he 6501 control head is a compact, stylish control head, typically used in scenarios where space and visibility are limited. The 6501 comes with illuminated position indicators, as well as multiple types of handles and coatings. The 6501 can be used in both Mighty Mariner and 6525 systems, and can be mounted on a panel allowing for switches between functions.
6504 Electronic Control Head
The 6504 electronic control head is a stylish yet robust control head, cast as one piece to allow for both handles and integrated waterproof switches that allow for steering and thruster controls to be included as part of the head’s functionality.
6505 Electronic Control Head
The 6505 is Kobelt’s most popular control, with a solid bronze and stainless steel construction and rugged feel. The 6505 is watertight, and is capable of being used in multiple control head configurations as part of a Mighty Mariner system or a 6525 system.
6506 – Side Mount Electronic Control
The 6506 side mount electronic control is a solid, single level control, ideal for single level clutch and throttle or any combination of CP propeller and trolling valve applications. The 6506 is equipped with adjustable friction, detent and two potentiometers, allowing for use of the second as a spare or backup, if required. The 6506 requires a 6507 Mode Selector unit to function.
6508 – Illuminated Control Head
Illuminated multiple handle control head with base for switches and buttons.
The 6508 is an illuminated control head, constructed from bronze and stainless steel but for interior use only. The 6508 typically comes mounted on a 4 switch base, allowing for similar functionality as the 6509. The 6508 can be equipped with two potentiometers per handle, allowing the second to be used as a spare or backup.
6509 – Integrated Electronic Control Head
Durable yet simple electronic control head for any Kobelt propulsion system.
The 6509 is a popular control, with a solid bronze and stainless steel construction and rugged feel. The 6509 is watertight, and is capable of being used in multiple control head configurations as part of a Mighty Mariner system or a 6525 system.
6515 – Triple Handle Electronic Control Head
Triple handle electronic control head for 3 engines or multiple configurations & functionality.
The 6515 is one of the only triple handle configuration electronic control heads on the market, capable of managing 3 separate engines for marine propulsion applications. The 6515 can be mounted on a control base.
The 6515 is water tight from the top side, but it is not hermetically sealed, and as such should not be used in harsh environments. The 6515 is available in bronze, chrome and black finishes.
6555 – Illuminated Electronic Control Head
Multi-function illuminated commercial propulsion control head.
The 6555 is an illuminated control head, constructed from bronze and stainless steel but for interior use only. The 6555 typically comes mounted on a 4 switch base, allowing for similar functionality as the 6508.
The 6510 can be equipped with two potentiometers per handle to act as a fail-safe, typically requires a control base and is not considered water tight. The photo shown is a 6555 installed onto a control base.
6570 – Electronic Control Head
Compact electronic control head with directional indicators & multiple switches.
The 6570 is built from bronze and stainless steel with a wedge shape to provide an additional option when selecting control heads.
The 6570 is similar to the 6505, but also has a gear feedback indicator to display the gear control position. The 6570 can be used with both the Mighty Mariner system or the 6525 system.
6652 – ”KRONOS” Touch Screen Electronic Control Head
Elegant LED touchscreen electronic control head for extended control functionality.
The 6652, known as the Krronos control head, is a modern, sophisticated control that features a 3.5″ (8.9cm) LCD touch screen for input and selection of functions, including station select & lock, throttle override, engine sync, simulated RPM and direction indicators and alarms.
The 6652 is the centrepiece of the Mighty Mariner system, but is not available as part of the 6525 system, and is not water tight.
6654 – Rotating Right Angle Electronic Control Head
Multi-function electronic & steering control head for 360 drives.
The 6654 was a unique control head designed for 360 degree right-angle drives, to provide control over disconnect clutch and engine speed. The control head is illuminated, can be equipped with a dimmer and is available in multiple different finishes.
The 6654 can only be used as a replacement head for an existing 6654, or for integration into Z-Drives, which require a complete electronic system – the 6535 System – to be implemented as well, to allow the 6654 to work with the Z-Drive. The 6535 System is not available for any other heads or configurations.
6657: Integrated Steering & Propulsion Electronic Control Head
This 6657 Integrated Steering & Propulsion Electronic Control Head provides propulsion controls for clutch and throttle plus full follow up (FFU) steering rudder control, all comfortably operated by a single hand. The 6657 is ideally suited for a navigation station with limited space due to its compact footprint.
The 6657 provides clutch and throttle propulsion control. It is available in either Single or Twin Engine handle configurations. Push the lever forward 20° to engage the forward gear. Push the lever another 60° for your throttle control from engine idle to maximum RPM. From the upright position, pull the lever backwards for reverse operation. Available with single or dual 5Kohm potentiometers for propulsion signal output.
Microprocessors
6503 – Mighty Mariner System Electronic Interface
The 6503 is a microprocessor unit, acting as the central processor for the Mighty Mariner electronic control system. The interface monitors all input information from control heads and switch panels, communicates to the control heads and sonalerts, operates clutch solenoids and the throttle signal for the engine.
The 6503 is programmed using dipswitches and trimpots and can incorporate up to 4 electronic control heads.
6525 System Microprocessor
6525 System microprocessor unit, installed in durable bronze case.
The 6525 Microprocessor acts as the central processor for the 6525 electronic control system. The processor accepts up to 8 control stations with only two communicating wires and can control two main propulsion engines and their respective reverse gears or CP propellers.
The 6525 processor also inputs the control of trolling valves, and provides all interlocking for regular propulsion systems, including propeller shaft brakes and throttle boosts.
The 6525 processor is programmed using a laptop, and is very flexible, capable of incorporating many different control heads, switches, panels, actuators and functionality.
6533 – Electric Clutch Drive Unit
The 6533 is a microprocessor unit that allows for the management of an electric clutch as part of a 6525 system. The 6533 is very similar to the 6525 microprocessor, and can be configured to single or twin engines.
The photo shown is of a 7173 amplifier, very similar to the casing for the 6533.
7173-K / 7173-KAS: Electronic Steering Full Follow-Up Amplifier
The 7173-K Series amplifiers are designed to accept commands from electronic steering controls to coordinate the desired rudder position through feedback units. The 7173-K Series amplifiers can also activate solenoid valves to disperse fluid to a hydraulic steering system to maintain position.
The 7173 is water tight, available in 12 or 24 VCD power configurations, and can control single or dual speed steering systems, 2 independent steering systems controlled by the same controller (Catamarans) or 2 independent hydraulic systems, such as steering and bucket control.
The 7173 also comes in a transfer box configuration, to allow for relay signals between stations.
Actuators
6524 – Electronic Actuator
The 6524 actuator allows for actuation of marine clutches, throttles, trolling valves, controllable pitch propeller mechanisms and other marine & industrial applications.
The 6524 is a robust, bronze and stainless steel device, with 90 lbs. of torque and is equipped with manual disconnect capabilities, unique to Kobelt actuators. The 6524 comes with two levers for 2 functions. The lever allows for manual disengage, as well as overstroking without damage to the drive train.
6527 – Electronic Actuator
Robust, multi-engine electro-mechanical actuator for propulsion control.
The 6527 actuator is Kobelt’s top selling actuator, allowing for actuation of marine clutches, throttles, trolling valves, controllable pitch propeller mechanisms and other marine & industrial applications.
6528 – General Position Electronic Actuator
The 6528 is one of Kobelt’s most robust actuators, designed to handle heavy duty positioning functions. The 6528 has additional functionality over all other Kobelt actuators with a override for manual positioning, an electro-mechanical clutch arrangement to allow for return to centre / neutral start position and a resilient driven output shaft to allow for the motor to stop and wait for balance.
6531 – Electronic Actuator
The 6531 was designed to handle medium duty positioning functions. The 6531 has an internal electric disconnect clutch, and has an output shaft that allows for 90 degrees of rotation and a maximum torque of 150 in. lbs.
The 6531 comes with either a 12 or 24 volt DC motor and has a reduction gear of 200 to 1. The 6531 has a single lever, allowing for control of a single function.
6560 – Electronic Actuator
The 6560 is Kobelt’s smallest actuator, designed to handle light duty positioning functions. The 6560 has an output shaft that allows for 90 degrees of rotation and a maximum torque of 120 in. lbs.
The 6560 has a single lever, allowing for control of a single function. The 6560 is also the only actuator from Kobelt that is water tight, allowing for use in any location.

6700 Vitals Vessel System Monitoring & Smart Alarm Device
6700-0200 SmartBus Hub
The SmartBus Hub Module allows the user to connector up to five (5) additional SmartBus sensors. Kobelt offers three (3) options for SmartBus temperature sensors that can be used in any configuration, depending on your needs. Kobelt offers a barrel style temperature sensor (VT100) for immersion in air or liquid, a ring-terminal sensor (VT130) for direct connection to a metal surface, and a high-temperature sensor (VT110) for high-temperature applications.6700-0300 Analog Input Expansion Module
The Analog Input Expansion Module allows the user to connect up to six (6) additional analog sensors. The inputs are differential to reduce the probability of creating ground loops.6700-0310 Digital Input Expansion Module
The Digital Input Expansion Module allows the user to connector up to twelve (12) additional digital inputs. The inputs are separated into three banks to allow inputs with different references.6700-0320 SMS Communications Module
The SMS Communications Module connects to the Vitals System Monitoring Panel to provide support for broadcasting of system status over SMS messaging. Management and configuration of messages is handled directly through the Vitals System Monitoring Panel.*Note: Speaker and cabling sold separately (not included with Vitals).
6507 Mode Selector Panel
Durable bronze water tight panel for up to 6 buttons or switches.
The 6507 is a panel with integrated switches and indicators, used when the control station and mode selector are located in different areas. The 6507 is most often used with the 6506 Side Mount electronic control, is water tight and comes in either four or six selector button configurations.
6510 Control Base
The 6510 is a solid, bronze and stainless steel base for mounting control heads onto, allowing for switches, indicator lights or other button-based functionality to be added to a stand-alone control head. The 6510 is available with either 4 or 6 switch configurations.
The 6510 is compatible with the 6515, 6523, 6545 and 6555 control heads. Photo shown is of a 6510 base with a 6555 control head mounted.
6511 Control Base
The 6511 control base is a solid, bronze and stainless steel base for mounting control heads onto, allowing for switches, indicator lights or other button-based functionality to be added to a stand-alone control head. The 6511 is available with a 6 switch configurations and has an alarm built into the base.
The 6511 is compatible with the 6515, 6523, 6545 and 6555 control heads. Photo shown is of a 6511 base with a 6555 control head mounted.
Kobelt also produces alarm panels with part number 6511, be sure to clarify that the control base is required along with a control head, rather than a basic alarm panel.
6512 Control Base
The 6512 control base is a solid, bronze and stainless steel base for mounting control heads onto, allowing for switches, indicator lights or other button-based functionality to be added to a stand-alone control head. The 6512 also has an LED strip that allows for indicators on running position and a 4 line digital readout. The 6512 comes with a dimmer function, and is available with up to 12 switches.
The 6512 is compatible with the 6515, 6523, 6545 and 6555 control heads. Photo shown is of a 6512 base with a 6555 control head mounted.
7175: Analog Indicators
The 7175 Analog Indicator gauges provide reliable display of rudder angle position, rudder order command, or propeller pitch at your vessel’s control stations.
These small, 3-inch diameter, waterproof gauges include backlight for night and daytime operations. They are available in a Master or Slave configuration to suit your system’s requirements. A reversed rudder angle indicator is available to align with aft facing stations. They can be configured with up to a total of six units in an operational loop.
The indicators are driven by a position transducer such as the Kobelt 7163, 7168, or 7174 Rudder Feedback Units (RFU).
7180: Rudder Angle Indicator
The 7180 Rudder Angle Indicator is a smaller version of the popular Kobelt 7175 Rudder Angle Indicator. The 7180 is available in Master and Slave configurations in both 12VDC and 24VDC offerings. Both the Master and Slave contain a backlight to illuminate the indicator during dark operating hours.
7178: Panoramic Rudder Angle Indicator
The 7178 is a large sized illuminated overhead rudder angle indicator typically installed in a high location in the wheelhouse to allow for viewing from almost all areas.
The 7178 is equipped with a manual dimmer, available in 12 VDC or 24 VDC versions with a 30,000 hour life cycle, and can be configured for easy centering of the pointers.
6511-SP – Small Switch Panel
The 6511-SP series of small switch panels are primarily used for station selection, but can be used for any application that requires switching or indicators of this nature.
The 6511-SP series is available in water tight version, and allows for up to 6 switches or lamps. The photo shown is of a 6 switch panel.
6511-TP – Telegraph Panels
The 6511-TP series of telegraph panels allow for communication between the wheelhouse and the engine room. The 6511-TP panels are available in single and dual configurations, and can be integrated into any Kobelt electronic control system.

Other Electronic Parts
2170 – Electronic Clutch Control Adaptor
The 2170 is an electric gearshift adaptor which can be connected to many push-pull controls, to control electrically actuated clutches. The 2170 can be installed directly onto the control head chassy, or on 2 lever systems can have a second station that can be connected with cables to the master station.
The 2170 is available for use with the 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2030, 2044, 2046, 2047, 2048, 2049, 2050, 2051, 2054, 2081, 2091, 2092, 2095 and 2096.
The 2170 adaptor is ordered by choosing a control head, then adding a ”-0910” suffix. Please contact Kobelt or your local Kobelt Partner for more information about cables and parts.
